Praying for Passports

We are currently waiting for our sons’ passports.  Haiti ran out of passport booklets and so we are waiting for them to come in.  Once we have their passports we will then be in USCIS, department of homeland security.  At this point we will then have a timeline of 4-12 weeks, with the average being about 8 weeks.  This last leg will be tricky as the key is getting no RFE’s .  So we are praying for the passports to come in, and for no RFE’s.

For many this last leg of the journey is the hardest.  You are almost there, but not yet!

Ron was asked to teach a  7th hour again, and prayerfully said yes since the extra hour was an easier prep due to its content.  This means that we do not have to be concerned of not being approved in USCIS to adopt the boys due to income.  This also means we were able to use the nest egg we saved to repair our bad roof and put in an egress window.  It was highly recommended that we give the older boys their own room.  This is important so that the younger boys learn to depend on us for their needs and so that Josh and Robenson do not feel that burden.  We are so thankful for Dean Smith and his helper Martin for getting these jobs done quickly for us before our lives change forever!

We just used our last money in our Lifesong account to pay our final fees to America World.  We have had some of you ask about donating for bringing the boys home.  We estimate the end costs with flights, fees to FEJ, and our final stay to be about 7600. Depending on how cheap we can get flights.  We have one more grant that knocks that down to 6100.  We do have the Abba Fund 0% loan we can utilize if needed, but wanted to give you all a chance to help us bring them home.  We prefer your donations go to Lifesong where you can donate a tax deductible gift and we do not have to handle the money.  They

distribute the funds as we need and submit receipts.  We are able to use this account right until the end when the boys are home.

To make a gift through Lifesong to help us bring home our sons:

Please make checks payable to “Lifesong for Orphans.” In the memo, note “Schaffner  #4451” to assure it goes to the right account. Please mail to: Lifesong for Orphans, PO Box 40, Gridley, IL. 61744.  Lifesong has been blessed with a partner that underwrites all U.S. administrative and fund-raising costs (TMG Foundation and other partners).  This means 100% of your donation will go directly to the adoption.  Lifesong is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and your gift is tax deductible.

This will be the last time we fund raise.  We will be done.  Wow.

It seems surreal that they will ever come home.  I see their faces and some days it feels like they will never come home.  We wait upon Him.  We wait upon Him in His goodness and perfect timing.  He is Lord of all.  We trust Him to do what is best, when it is best.

Thanks for all your prayers, support, donations, kind words and love.  May He be glorified.

Love,

Ron, Michelle, Luke, Abi, Kaiti, Josh, Robenson, Anna, Samson, Jimmy, Ally, Ricardo and Ella Joy
